Random Pots
This project deals with the question "How computational tools can be used to produce new shapes on a potter's wheel that cannot be produced by human hands?".
The first step was to create random lines that would shape the cylinder of the pots. I simulated many choices and chose the ones that fit the most in terms of design and feasibility.

I wanted to test the limits of the clay and see what may happen when the tools meet the material and what new forms could be born.


The next step was to 3d print those tools and start testing it on the pottery wheel.
The tools created complex shapes that stretched the limits of the clay. I found out that the deeper the angles, the harder it is for the clay to be stable.
